Sustainability

Offering high-quality products is, of course, the ultimate goal of our business activities. Another is also indispensable and linked to this: quality of life for those involved in the creation of clothing produced for Pandinavia. This is why we constantly ensure that fair and ethical production conditions are maintained at our partner companies.

Fair and loyal

Ensuring fair pay and the appreciation and care of all employees is our top priority – in Switzerland as well as in Guimarães (Portugal) and Istanbul (Turkey) where 95% of our customised textiles are produced.

Our partners signed up to the Pandinavia Code of Conduct very early on, a code of conduct on human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption and have been implementing these standards consistently for many years.

Pandinavia has been a member of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) since 2008 and our production partners are BSCI-certified companies.

Made in Europe – many advantages

Production in Europe offers many advantages for us: good working conditions, short transport routes and the ability to deliver fast. This enables us to turn around even the most complex projects within 8 weeks. Pandinavia employees visit our production facilities several times a year for quality assurance purposes. Particularly important for our customers: all our manufacturers work in accordance with the OEKO-TEX 100 standard, thus preventing the presence of harmful substances in the textiles. Pandinavia is aware of its responsibility for its products as well as its suppliers and their employees and acts accordingly.

THE OEKO-TEX® 100 STANDARD

The OEKO-TEX® 100 standard is a comprehensive, independent testing and certification system for textile products at all stages of processing. Textiles can only be certified if all components meet the applicable requirements. The test criteria are updated annually and extend far beyond legal regulations.

The certification system of the OEKO-TEX® 100 standard with its “confidence in textiles” label is the world’s best-known and most widely used test mark to designate textiles tested for harmful substances.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and is an internationally recognised standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibres. The standard sets strict criteria for ecological and social welfare across the entire supply chain. GOTS-certified products must consist of at least 70% organically produced natural fibres and must not contain any harmful chemicals. The standard also includes specifications relating to working conditions, minimum wage and the prohibition of child labour. GOTS offers consumers a reliable labelling system for sustainable textiles and supports the development of an environmentally-friendly and socially fair textiles industry.
